Below is a timeline status of the BMP Project
- 2003 – 2005: Township sub-watershed modeling and prioritizing effective sites for reducing pollutants and volume of stormwater runoff; resulted in selection of Township-owned property for demonstration project.
- 2006: Preliminary characterization of soil conditions within the proposed project area for soil type, depth to bedrock, and infiltration potential.
- 2007: Detailed soil characterization (test pits, infiltration tests) by Cahill Associates.
- 2007 – 2008: Develop designs and bid specifications for four phases of BMP construction in the demonstration project area.
- Phase I, Swale Infiltration System:
- Grant for Construction Awarded – 2008
- Pre-construction water rainwater sampling - Sept 2008 & Feb 2009
- Contract for Construction Awarded – May 2010
- Construction Completed – May 2010
- Continue beautification/plantings through 2011
- Phase 2A, Brookside Infiltration System:
- Grant for Construction Awarded – 2009
- Pre-construction water rainwater sampling - Dec 2010
- Contract for Construction Awarded – Spring 2011
- Construction Completed – Spring 2011
- Continue beautification/plantings through 2011
- The design documents for Amphitheater Infiltration System (Phase 2B) and Hart Lane Infiltration System (Phase 3) have been completed.
- An educational presentation, “Rainwater Awareness” was developed and delivered in the spring of 2010. Additional sessions are planned.
